Hear the Discord messages that matter
Toldya reads selected new Discord messages aloud so you do not have to monitor Discord constantly. The product available now is a Chrome extension for Discord Web. You can choose a Discord channel, optionally filter by author, ignore unwanted phrases, and choose the language and installed voice used for speech.
What Toldya does

Toldya is also testing an optional Discord server integration for communities. That early-access integration is designed to receive selected messages and embedded alerts and deliver them to authorized subscribed users, without changing the community’s existing posting workflow. Community owners do not need to install the server integration for members to use Toldya. Individual users can use the Chrome extension independently. Why not just use Discord’s built-in TTS?
Discord can speak some text depending on the client and your settings. Toldya is a separate Chrome extension for a narrower job: keep listening to one Discord Web channel and speak new messages as they appear.
That workflow is the point. You pick the channel in Chrome, optionally limit speech to one author, strip phrases you do not want spoken, choose language and an installed voice, and skip the history already on screen when you start. Toldya does not replace Discord, and it does not try to be a general screen reader.

FAQ
Does Toldya work with Discord?
Yes. The product available now works with Discord Web in Chrome (discord.com). Individual users can install the Chrome extension and use it independently. Community owners do not need to install a server integration for members to use Toldya. A separate, optional server integration for community owners is in early access.
Does Toldya work in the Discord desktop app?
Not yet. Toldya’s Chrome extension works with Discord Web, not the Discord desktop or mobile apps. A separate server integration for community owners is in early access.
Can Toldya read only one Discord channel?
Yes. Toldya listens to the one channel you select. If you switch channels in Discord, select the new one again.
Can Toldya read messages from only one author?
Yes, optionally. By default it reads new messages from everyone in the selected channel. You can instead use the author of the last visible message, then clear that filter when you want everyone again.
Can I choose the voice?
Yes. This beta lets you choose English, French, or Hebrew, then Automatic or a matching voice installed on your computer, plus speech rate and pitch. Playback uses Chrome and your operating system. Toldya does not send the spoken audio to a cloud voice vendor.
Does Toldya send message text to a server?
Yes. For each matching new message, Toldya sends the visible message text, the selected channel ID, and your ignore-phrases to the Toldya backend so the wording can be cleaned for speech. Language, voice, rate, pitch, and author-filter details stay on your device. Read the privacy policy for the full data flow.
Does Toldya read old messages when I turn it on?
No. Messages already on screen when watching starts are not spoken. Only messages that arrive after you start listening are read aloud.
Is Toldya available for Chrome?
Yes. Toldya is a licensed Chrome extension, currently in beta. A public checkout is not published on this site yet. If you already have a license key, install the extension, paste the key, choose a Discord channel, and click Save + test.
Do community owners need to install a Discord bot for members to use Toldya?
No. Server integration is optional. Individual users can use the Chrome extension on Discord Web without a community installing anything on the server. The optional server integration is early access and is designed to receive selected messages and embedded alerts for authorized subscribed users. It is not generally available yet.
